Haruhiro Tsujimoto, who is the current Capcom president, in an interview, said the most obvious barrier for disappointing sales of Monster Hunter Wilds is the PS5 price.
"However, we have also found that the ‘PS5 barrier’ is surprisingly high. The console costs around ¥80,000. If you add the cost of games and monthly subscriptions, you're looking at around ¥100,000 at the time of purchase. That's not an easy amount to shell out, especially for the younger generation. This situation is not limited to Japan, but is also evident overseas."
