To design 007 First Light, Smit says he recruited "people who had experience in coding, implementation, adjustment, and balancing." This is presented as "a balancing act that involves making the game exciting, credible, and dangerous, while remaining accessible and fun for a wide audience".


The release date of the game is March 27, 2026, and it will be released on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC.
